We consider the provision of a safe and healthy working environment for our employees, as well as any other parties sharing the work space an utmost priority. Extensive measures and controls are in place to ensure this is maintained.
All employees and parties involved in our projects will be working in compliance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2012 (SA), Work Health and Safety Regulations 2012 (SA) and all current legislative requirements and safe work industry practices.
AIL management will take all reasonable steps to safeguard employee health and safety by:
- Provide instructions on safe working procedures
- Provide workplace hazards and risk assessment information
- Comply with relevant Health and Safety legislation
- Provide first aid facilities
- Provide appropriate personal protective equipment
- Work with employees and unions to reduce workplace hazards and risks
- Investigate any workplace incidents to prevent their re-occurrence
- In the unlikely event of an employee injury that they receive appropriate treatment
- Provide light duties/suitable tasks as required
AIL employees & subcontractors are required to:
- Comply with all current legislative requirements and guidelines
- Be aware of the safety hazards
- Participate in the development of safety plans to improve current systems
- Use equipment provided for their safety and well being
- Work safely to protect themselves and others from injury
- Follow all instructions for their safety at work
Our supervisors are responsible for the implementation of health and safety processes to workers under their supervision. They will ensure that the machinery and equipment required by each worker is safe and that all workers are in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures for each piece of equipment. Employees will receive adequate training in their specific work tasks to protect their health and safety.
Every employee, subcontractor, and employee of a subcontractor must protect his or her own health by working in compliance with the law and with safe work practices and procedures.
